Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce a smoky variety works best
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Equipment

  • Small bowl
  • whisk

Method

  1. Add the mayonnaise, honey, yellow mustard, Dijon, barbecue sauce, and lemon juice to a small bowl.
  2. Whisk until completely smooth and glossy, with no streaks of mustard remaining.
  3. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes - the flavors meld and deepen as it rests. Serve with nuggets, fries, or sandwiches.

Notes

The smoky note comes from the barbecue sauce, so pick one you love. For a tangier sauce, add a touch more lemon; for sweeter, a little more honey. Keeps in the fridge for up to two weeks.
