- Preheat the oven to 350F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, stir together the hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, melted butter, onion, half the cheddar, salt, and pepper until evenly combined.
- Spread into the baking dish and top with the remaining cheddar.
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and golden on top. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Thaw the hash browns first and pat off excess moisture so the casserole bakes up creamy, not watery. For a crispy top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.
