Copycat McDonald's Egg McMuffin

The copycat McDonald's Egg McMuffin - a perfectly round egg, Canadian bacon, and melty American cheese on a toasted English muffin. The breakfast classic, made at home in 15 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 English muffins split
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices Canadian bacon
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • Egg ring

Method
 

  1. Toast the English muffins and butter them. Warm the Canadian bacon in a skillet.
  2. Grease an egg ring in the skillet, crack in an egg, break the yolk, and cook covered until set.
  3. Layer cheese, egg, and Canadian bacon on the muffin bottom, the warmth melting the cheese.
  4. Top with the other muffin half and serve immediately.

Notes

An egg ring (or a clean tuna can with both ends removed) gives the signature round shape.
