Ingredients

  • 4 slices Texas toast bread thick-cut
  • 4 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese optional

Equipment

  • Skillet or griddle

Method

  1. Mix the softened butter with the garlic powder, seasoning salt, and Parmesan if using.
  2. Spread the garlic butter on both sides of each thick slice of bread.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  4. Griddle the bread 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  5. Serve warm with chicken fingers or your favorite meal.

Notes

Use thick-sliced Texas toast bread. A garlic butter with a little seasoning salt is the secret, and griddling both sides gives the crispy, golden finish.
