Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • large skillet

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook 2-3 minutes, turning, until just pink. Remove the shrimp.
  3. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice and simmer 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Stir in the remaining butter, salt, and red pepper flakes until the sauce is glossy.
  5. Return the shrimp, toss with the parsley, and serve over pasta or with bread.

Notes

Do not overcook the shrimp - they need just 2-3 minutes. The sauce comes together fast, so have everything ready before you start.
