Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Equipment

  • Mixer
  • Baking sheets

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then mix into the wet ingredients just until combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips. Scoop large mounds onto lined baking sheets.
  5. Bake 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers look soft. Cool on the sheet 5 minutes.

Notes

The secret to Subway's chew is extra brown sugar and slightly underbaking. Pull the cookies when the centers still look soft.
