Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon pickled jalapeno brine
  • 1 tablespoon pickled jalapenos minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper optional

Method
 

  1. Combine the mayonnaise and sour cream in a bowl.
  2. Add the jalapeno brine, minced jalapenos, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, sugar, and cayenne if using.
  3. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes to let the flavors meld before serving.

Notes

The pickled jalapeno brine is the secret to the authentic tang - do not skip it. For a smoother sauce, blend everything for a few seconds.
