- Stir the sugar into the warm milk, sprinkle the yeast over, and let sit 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in the egg and melted butter, then the flour and salt. Knead 6-8 minutes until smooth. Cover and rise 1 hour until doubled.
- Roll the dough out and cut into 16 squares. Place in a greased pan, cover, and rise 45 minutes.
- Bake at 350F for 12-15 minutes until golden on top. Brush generously with melted butter and serve warm with cinnamon honey butter.
Notes
The squares are the Texas Roadhouse signature - cut them evenly so they bake uniformly. Brush with butter twice (once out of the oven, once a minute later) for that glossy, buttery top.
