Copycat Wendy's Baconator

A copycat of Wendy's Baconator - two square beef patties, six strips of crispy bacon, American cheese, ketchup, and mayo on a toasted bun.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20
  • 12 strips bacon
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 hamburger buns toasted
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook the bacon until crisp, then drain. Divide the beef into four thin square patties and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the patties on a hot griddle 2-3 minutes per side, adding a slice of cheese to each in the last minute.
  3. Toast the buns and spread mayo on the top bun and ketchup on the bottom.
  4. Stack two cheese-topped patties per bun with three strips of bacon on each.
  5. Close the burgers and serve immediately.

Notes

Wendy's patties are square and pressed thin so the edges crisp. Smash the beef on a hot griddle for that signature crust.
