- Cook the bacon until crisp, then drain. Divide the beef into four thin square patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Sear the patties on a hot griddle 2-3 minutes per side, adding a slice of cheese to each in the last minute.
- Toast the buns and spread mayo on the top bun and ketchup on the bottom.
- Stack two cheese-topped patties per bun with three strips of bacon on each.
- Close the burgers and serve immediately.
Notes
Wendy's patties are square and pressed thin so the edges crisp. Smash the beef on a hot griddle for that signature crust.
